As Head of People, you will play a key role in shaping and executing our People strategy as we transition from a high-growth, research-focused organization to manufacturing operations, with a vision to become a global leader in sustainable protein production while driving cutting-edge innovation.
Reporting directly to the CEO, you will work closely with the leadership team to support the company's rapid expansion, particularly through establishing multiple industrial sites. This is a unique opportunity to lead a strategic People function in a deep tech environment, supporting a diverse and highly talented workforce.
What will you be responsible for?
- People Strategy & Organizational Development:
- Lead a strategic People roadmap aligned with Gourmey’s scaling goals, addressing talent acquisition, organizational design, and long-term talent needs.
- Support the leadership team in adapting an organization that can scale with global growth, ensuring the right processes and frameworks are in place. As we move from R&D to industry.
- Drive team and leadership talent development, and high-performance culture across all levels of the organization, ensuring the company maintains agility while growing.
- Talent Acquisition, Retention & Development:
- Lead the global recruitment strategy, focusing on attracting top talent via a compelling employer brand across engineering, operations, productions, and R&D functions. Partner with the leadership team to build high-performing teams capable of supporting our expansion.
- Maintain and lead robust onboarding, career development, and performance management systems that support continuous learning and growth, particularly as we expand in industrial environments.
- Develop programs to retain key talent during a critical phase of growth, leveraging competitive compensation packages, professional development opportunities, and a strong company culture.
- HR Operations, Compliance & Workplace Safety:
- Oversee all HR operations, including payroll, employee relations, and legal compliance, ensuring scalability and efficiency as we grow. Implement systems that are adaptable across multiple geographies and industrial sites.
- Lead workplace health and safety initiatives, ensuring that both office and industrial environments meet the highest safety and wellness standards.
- Collaborate with operational teams to ensure compliance with local labor laws and best practices across different regions, particularly as we expand our industrial footprint.
- Culture, Diversity & Employee Engagement:
- Champion company culture and ensure it evolves in alignment with our growth and values. Maintain a vibrant, inclusive, and high-performance environment as we expand internationally.
- Lead initiatives around Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), ensuring diversity at all levels and fostering an inclusive culture that attracts and retains a wide range of talent.
- Develop and execute comprehensive employee engagement strategies, ensuring clear communication, employee satisfaction, and alignment with company goals.
What about you?
You have a minimum of 8-10 years of experience in HR leadership, ideally within high-growth or industrial tech environments.
You also bring experience in HR leadership within industrial operations or manufacturing environments, particularly in companies expanding globally and establishing multiple sites.
You have a proven track record of scaling HR functions in organizations transitioning from startup to scale-up, particularly Series B phases and beyond. Specifically:
- Leadership & Influence:
- A strategic leader capable of driving organizational change and influencing at the executive level, with the ability to align HR strategy with business scaling goals.
- Experience building and leading HR teams in dynamic, fast-growing environments, with the ability to implement both strategic and operational HR functions.
- Growth Mindset & Agility:
- A growth-oriented mindset with experience navigating the complexities of rapid expansion in a high-pressure environment. Proven ability to adapt quickly to changing needs in a high-growth, international context.
- Cultural Sensitivity & Communication:
- Strong cultural awareness with a commitment to DEI and fostering a collaborative, inclusive environment across multiple locations and geographies.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of building trust at all levels of the organization.
- You are fluent in French and English, both written and spoken.
