At GOURMEY, you will report to Jeremiah Jackson, Quality Control & Analytical Development Lead.
What will you be responsible for?
As a Research Scientist in Cellular & Molecular Biology, you are responsible for planning and conducting experiments and perform laboratory tasks related to cellular and molecular biology independently.
Key responsibilities:
Quality Control: Implement and oversee quality control measures to ensure the consistency and safety of our cell-lines.
Assay development: Establish and optimize qPCR, Flow cytometry and EB protocols, in accordance with ICH2 guidelines, to address research and regulatory studies regarding cell line stability
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and safety standards in the field of cellular agriculture.
Data Analysis: Analyze experimental data and provide insights to guide decision-making and process optimization.
Safety: Adhere to laboratory safety protocols, including the proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams including media development, cell-line establishment, and bioprocessing experts to achieve project goals.
Technical writing: of validated R&D protocols and tech transfer across the company (SOPs, FORMs, Method Validation reports, etc.)
Cell Culture: Cultivate and maintain a variety of internal cell lines., monitoring their health and viability.
Working conditions:
This position is based at our start-up's headquarters, with occasional travel for meetings with partners.
This position requires involvement in the weekend and holiday cell culture roster.
What about you?
You hold an MSc or equivalent in Biological Sciences.
You have strong molecular biology skills, from RNA /DNA extraction to qPCR and are proficient in transcriptomics data interpretation.
You have a strong experience in assay validation, and ICH2 guidelines.
Hands-on experience with animal cell culture techniques, ideally pluripotent stem cell (culture or primary cells), including aseptic cell handling, cell line maintenance, and familiarity with cell and tissue culture equipment. Ideally you have experience regarding early differentiation experiments and cell characterisation techniques such as flow cytometry, IF and telomerase assay.
You are proficient in sterile cell culture techniques.
You are able to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment and adjust to evolving priorities.
You are able to actively contribute to solving problems and help carry the workload with your teammates.
You are able to work effectively in cross-functional teams and communicate complex scientific concepts to diverse stakeholders.
Fluent English, both written and spoken. We are a very international team, no need to speak French!
