The Centre engages 190+ organizations from various industry sectors, governments, academic institutions and civil society to anticipate global trends and incubate new partnerships that can accelerate inclusive technology adoption while stimulating innovation, sustainability and employment.
Reporting Lines & Interactions
The Initiatives and Community Specialist, Advanced Manufacturing and Supply Chains will report to the Content Curation and Operational Excellence Lead, Advanced Manufacturing and Supply Chains and will work closely with the Centre’s team members such as the other Project and Community Specialists and Leads as well as with the Programming and Communications Specialist.
The Specialist will also interact with a variety of global stakeholders, including business, public sector agencies and leading experts from the manufacturing and supply chains ecosystem.
Main Responsibilities
Support the Resilient Value Chains portfolio of initiatives
Bring together stakeholders from business and government to create consensus around emerging challenges and opportunities related to the resilience of advanced manufacturing and value chains
Conduct consultations to create an understanding of the sector’s priorities, build trust around a common agenda, using it to help community members, and drive action and impact by facilitating their engagement in specific initiatives
Support a clear strategy for the incubation, management and scale up of initiatives
Generate and aggregate new insights (e.g., best practice strategies, use cases) and support specific deliverables (e.g., frameworks, White Papers) to disseminate latest knowledge, findings and lessons learned, and help raise awareness across stakeholders
Organize and support key activities and events related to different initiatives such as workshops and roundtables
Develop key marketing materials and ensure materials are always up-to-date and made available to community members as needed
Leverage our digital platforms and tools to design and enable the digital engagement of stakeholders
The successful candidate will be assessed on
Understanding of manufacturing and supply chains dynamics and trends shaping the sector
Delivery of tasks assigned and/or initiated to standards of excellence and against goals including quality of processes and deliverables
Ability to work effectively with community members, ensuring that they are engaged in the Forum’s work and benefit from timely communication and efficient coordination
Collaboration with Forum colleagues and external stakeholders for the generation and aggregation of forward-looking insights, and the production of specific deliverables
Ability to support the growth of our portfolio of initiatives and community of stakeholders, and manage them successfully and sustainably
Preferred Requirements and Experience
University degree (Bachelors or higher) in engineering, policy, technology, business or similar fields.
Background or demonstrated interest in manufacturing, supply chains, technology, or innovation-related topics
3+ years of experience in the private, public sector or non-for-profit organization, with significant experience in business, technology, manufacturing, operations, or policy
Ability to quickly synthesize, develop and effectively communicate perspectives on strategic issues in a succinct way, tailored to the audience
Knowledge of and experience in leading or contributing to multistakeholder initiatives, while engaging senior executives.
Highly collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Demonstrated abilities to thrive in a fast-paced work setting with strong flexibility, adaptability, and ability to deliver under pressure and handle multiple priorities.
Proven project management and coordination skills, with attention to detail.
Ability to communicate clearly and work collaboratively in multicultural teams with strong work ethic and positive attitude
Excellent presentation and facilitation skills.
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
