In this position you will...
- reporting to the Director of Business & Mission, you will be responsible for growing our network of certified farms, providing expert agricultural guidance, and leading our innovation team. Your role is pivotal in shaping the future of our farming operations by establishing new farm partnerships, upholding stringent organic, Fair Trade, and Regenerative Organic certifications, and spearheading initiatives to transform farms into sustainable, resilient systems
You will be responsible for...
- Expansion of Certified Farms:
- Develop and implement a strategic plan for the expansion of certified farms, both in existing provinces and new regions where coconut farming is traditionally not practiced
- Collaborate with the Sourcing and Procurement Manager to co-develop annual expansion plans and monitor progress toward target numbers for certified farms
- Lead the identification and onboarding of new farms, ensuring they meet certification standards and are prepared for sustainable practices
- Agricultural Extension:
- Design and deliver comprehensive training programs for farmers, focusing on organic, Fair For Life - Fair Trade, and Regenerative Organic practices
- Monitor compliance with certification standards and ensure the implementation of practices recommended by our expert agronomists
- Oversee the monitoring of farm yields and improve yield forecast accuracy, ensuring timely communication of projections to key stakeholders
- Work cross-functionally with the Compliance Manager and Sourcing Manager to enhance productivity and streamline processes
- Agricultural Innovation:
- Manage the Agricultural Innovation team to implement and scale the future farming model, as outlined in the Regenerative Agriculture Manager's responsibilities
- Lead the execution of research projects, including field experiments and pilot programs, aimed at improving farm productivity and resilience
- Drive innovation in farming practices, integrating diverse crops, pollinator support, and other regenerative techniques to enhance farm sustainability
- Management and Leadership:
- Oversee routine operations and ensure that all activities are conducted in a timely and efficient manner
- Hire, train, and manage a team of managers, specialists, supervisors, and agronomists, fostering a culture of performance, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Prepare reports and presentations for the Board of Directors, Leadership Team, and other key stakeholders
- Financial Management:
- Forecast, prepare, and manage budgets for farm expansion, agricultural extension, and innovation projects
- Track department expenses and ensure alignment with the company's financial goals
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborate with local communities, government agencies, NGOs, and other stakeholders to support farm expansion and innovation initiatives
- Represent the company at relevant conferences and forums, advocating for sustainable and regenerative farming practices
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Environmental Science, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred
- Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in sustainable agriculture, farm management, or a related field
- Proven track record in overseeing large-scale agricultural projects and leading high-performing teams
- In-depth knowledge of organic, Fair Trade, and regenerative farming principles and practices
- Exceptional project management skills with the ability to deliver complex initiatives on time and within budget
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders
- Proven financial acumen, including budgeting and financial management
- Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, and cross-cultural competence
- Passionate advocate for sustainability and environmental protection
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
- Native fluency in Thai with advanced English language proficiency
- Commitment to frequent travel and on-site farm visits
