Protein Industries Canada (PIC) is an industry-led, not-for-profit organization created to position Canada as a global source of high-quality plant protein and plant-based co-products. An integrated value chain is Canada’s unique advantage. PIC was created to catalyze collaboration and innovation– from genetics and crops, to ingredients and products - through a robust Technology Leadership investment portfolio that will help secure Canada’s position as a global leader in plant-based food, feed, and ingredients.
Reporting to the Board, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will be responsible for the overall management and leadership of Protein Industries Canada. The CEO will lead PIC to support Canada in becoming a global leader in the plant-based protein industry, fostering innovation and commercialization of high-quality plant-based food and feed protein products and ingredients. The CEO will be an ambassador for companies to gain pathways to customers, markets, and partnerships that they could not access on their own, including facilitating opportunities for its members to leverage expertise and innovations with those of large and multinational enterprises, public sector organizations and academia.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced executive with a multi faceted background that combines industry, government/public sector, research, and/or academia in roles that have included commercialization and innovation. Ideally armed with a strong understanding of the agriculture and food sectors, the preferred candidate brings a strategic and entrepreneurial mindset, as well as the ability to manage myriad stakeholders that include private capital, research, industry and government.
Protein Industries Canada’s office is located in Regina, Saskatchewan, and the role can be located outside of that market.
