At GOURMEY, you will report to Brian Chun, our Head of Quality & Regulation.
What will you be doing?
As a QA/QC Intern, you will support both QA and QC functions, working closely with our technicians and specialists. This role is ideal for someone seeking broad exposure to QA and QC practices in a dynamic and innovative environment.
Key responsibilities:
QA Support:
Assist with organizing and reviewing documents within GOURMEY’s FSQMS to ensure compliance with HACCP, GMPs, and other food safety standards.
Perform routine administrative tasks, including updating SOPs, logging documents, and preparing reports.
Support internal audits by ensuring all documentation is accurate and up to date.
Collaborate with the FSQ Managers, FSQ Specialist, and other team members to implement continuous improvement initiatives for the FSQMS.
QC Support:
Prepare samples for shipment to external laboratories, ensuring accurate labeling, documentation, and compliance with storage and shipping requirements.
Enter sample information into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) with precision.
Perform basic laboratory tasks such as cleaning, maintenance, and verifying that deep-cleaning protocols are followed in QC and other areas.
Support the Environmental Monitoring Program by conducting routine testing of air, surfaces, water, and the processing environment as needed.
Assist with recording, analyzing, and reporting laboratory data to relevant teams.
General Support:
Maintain laboratory organization and cleanliness, ensuring compliance with safety and hygiene protocols.
Contribute to monthly reports and presentations for the Quality team.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support Quality objectives.
What about you?
B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Microbiology, Life Sciences, Food Science, or a related field. Candidates currently pursuing a M.Sc will be considered.
Previous experience in a GLP/GMP laboratory (academic or industrial) is preferred.
Basic knowledge of microbiological techniques and food safety standards, including HACCP and GMPs.
Familiarity with electronic laboratory notebooks and digitized records.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace Apps (Docs, Sheets, Slides).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and data entry.
Fluent in English (written and spoken); fluency in French is a plus.
You are currently pursuing a degree, and your university is able to provide you with an internship contract.
Ready to embark on a minimum 6-month internship with us.
