This role is a Laboratory Technician who is going to work with petfood science (cats and dogs). The person will be part of a teams to build in vitro lab models, which reflect the functionality of functional ingredients in the animal and to build mode of action understanding. IFF ingredients, in particular enzymes, but also betaine, probiotics, postbiotics, prebiotics, and phytogenics will be focus for the work. The team is newly established in Brabrand and is part of a global team including vets and nutritionists all working on petfood.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS
The selected candidate will:
- Establish in vitro lab models, which reflect the functionality in the animal on a molecular level in collaboration with supervisor.
- Plan, execute and follow up on experiments to demonstrate mode of action and to compare different functional ingredients in companion animals.
- Characterize e.g. enzymes for use in petfood application.
- Participate in project work on application of probiotics, postbiotics, prebiotics for pets.
- Review data and analytical results, prepare reports and visuals and communicate them to internal collaborators.
Professional Profile
- Laboratory Technician with 3+ years research experience, preferably in an industry research lab within biochemistry or related field or a MS in biochemistry or related subject with 0–3-year research experience, thriving with laboratory work.
- Experience in setting up new methods and routines.
- Experience with protein characterisation, HPLC is preferred
- Experience within enzymology and animal, human or petfood nutrition is preferred.
