This position offers an exciting role with potential for professional and personal development within the EMEA Cheese Application team, belonging to the IFF Health & Bioscience division.
The Cheese Application Specialist is an experienced technical professional who provides support to customers in close collaboration with our sales organization. He / She manages the technical relationship with specific customers in support of growing the business and developing a robust pipeline of opportunities for cultures & dairy enzymes.
In this position, he/ she works closely with R&D and marketing by providing voice of customer relative to product performances and expectations of product attributes. He / She will be part of internal projects to develop new culture & dairy enzyme solutions for cheese.
Responsibilities:
Technical expertise on products & applications (50%):
- Support the promotion & commercialization of new technologies and/ or products through application/ customer trials.
- Develop product data, product literature and technical sales presentations.
- Be one of the IFF technical experts on our product portfolio and technologies, providing training to customers, sales managers, and marketing upon the needs.
- Carry out troubleshooting and technical support at our customers’.
Strategic market support (20%):
- Closely collaborate with the marketing team to identify new trends that could result in new opportunities.
- Identify unmet customer & industry needs to better target new product/ technology/ application support development to meet the market expectations.
- Share any learnings and communicate with other regional or global application colleagues to leverage on value-in-use information.
Project management (30%):
- Contribute to internal projects to ensure the link between scientific & experimental approach with customer’s challenges & needs.
- Design experimental plans, coordinate lab and/or pilot plant activities, interpret and share the results with the project team, while being force of proposal for next steps.
- Contribute to the evolution of our technical capabilities in line with our current or future developments.
Job requirements:
- MS/ engineer degree in relevant disciplines such as Food Sciences, Microbiology, Life Sciences
- Or technical degree in relevant disciplines coupled with an extensive experience in cheese production
- Professional with a theoretical background within dairy / food science and technology with a working knowledge of products (cultures and coagulants) and application & process.
- 5-10 years of experience from working with cheese product development or production.
- Strong scientific curiosity, and a passion for cheese technologies.
- Highly customer-oriented, willing to deliver solutions, skilled in managing complexity.
- Ability to combine technical support and business aspects.
- A willingness to travel is essential (40 – 50%)
- Master English both orally and written.
- Good collaborative and communication skills, positive attitude, and with a pragmatic mindset.
The position is based in our Brabrand, Denmark location; a state-of-the-art innovation center with about 350 employees onsite.
