About the position:
As an IA Engineer, you will ensure optimal availability, modifications, and assurance of industrial automation systems in the broadest sense. Your focus will be on software (systems) within our production plant, such as line control systems (PLC & non-PLC), MES, SCADA, and adjacent IT systems, as well as the utility systems.
The role is part of the Technical Department and reports to the Maintenance & Engineering Manager. Directs external parties during modifications, maintenance, and improvements. Acts as a practical extension of the Global IT Department.
Your challenge
- Develop, implement, and ensure our internal continuous improvement processes within the IA field, within the legal frameworks of safety and quality requirements.
- Propose and implement improvements in close collaboration with operations, IT, the technical department, and IA system suppliers according to the ISA95 model.
- Manage IA software such as PLC/SCADA/GBS systems.
- Implement necessary software changes in the PLC, SCADA, and GBS.
- Responsible for implementing necessary software adjustments and updates both internally and externally.
- Develop and manage technical standards and work methods and instruct TD colleagues and production staff in the form of EPLs, ensuring hardware is available as a backup for the TD shift.
- Ensure all necessary preventive work in the IA field.
- Responsible for the management and control of all system and application software within the technical service.
- Point of contact for projects and modifications related to the field, critical spare parts, and communication to various departments.
- Ensure the technical handover of IA-SW components during delivery.
- Responsible for supporting and developing the FDS (Functional Design Specifications).
- Manage the document management system (Teams/SharePoint) used within the Technical Service.
- Maintain the reporting environment for monitoring various technical KPIs together with IT.
- Stay informed about developments and innovations in the field.
- Ensure all user software, tablets, and interfaces for operational TD are available and secured together with IT.
- Willing to participate in the on-call service for technical support.
What you'll need
- Completed HBO education in Industrial Automation, Control Technology and Engineering.
- 3-5 years of experience as an IA Engineer.
- Experience in the food industry – a plus.
- Extensive experience with PLC/SCADA/MES systems.
- Strong affinity with IT.
- Experience with Siemens Tia-portal.
- Strong communication skills at all levels within the organization.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Proficiency in Dutch and English.
- Knowledge of continuous improvement (TPM, Lean).
- Knowledge of IFS/BRC, HACCP, and Occupational Safety and Health.
