The Process Safety Technology Leader (PSTL) is the primary technical contact for a global region for operations for Process Safety (PS). The PSTL combines a deep understanding of the process technology and its inherent hazards with a strong level of expertise in process safety risk & management. In addition to these technical capabilities, the PSTL is passionate about process safety.
He/she works in partnership with other global PSTL colleagues, the IFF CoE, relevant BU and/or sub-BU Environment Health & Safety (EH&S) organization, Manufacturing Technology (MT) and Plant Operations. The PSTL reports to the Global MT Process Safety Expertise Leader, with a strong functional relationship with the Corporate Process Safety Leaders, Business EH&S Leaders and the EH&S Center of Excellence (COE) Leader. The PSTL provides support within his/her home region but will also be called upon to provide support to facilities in other regions where required.
The role involves frequent interaction with Operations, EH&S and MT personnel at all levels of the organisation and as such requires the ability to work with Site / Facility Leaders, including assessing, reviewing and explaining the facility’s process safety hazards, and providing the justification for any proposed gap closure measures or risk mitigation strategy for that facility. The PSTL is also a Member of the Corporate PS Extended team.
