The Production Team is a matrix organization within Beyond Meat that is dedicated to creating food products that are leading the gold standard in plant-based proteins. They are looking for an outstanding individual to join the team located in Devault, PA as a Production Lead. The Production Lead is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the production floor. This position ensures team members follow quality standards, supports daily operations, monitors manufacturing and packaging procedures, and coordinates activities in the production department, including operating machines. Identifies production process concerns and resolves issues. Supports continuous improvement goals in safety, quality, and cost. Provides coaching and training to hourly production team members and provides ongoing feedback. TASKS, DUTIES, & GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES Oversee day-to-day production team members and floor activities Guides team performance and reports on metrics Sustain a team environment built on open communication Gather team member feedback and escalate to Production Supervisor as needed Support daily production goals and motivate team members to achieve goals Observe production floor performance and convey information to Production Supervisor Perform daily production activities while maintaining a safe, high-quality, high-volume manufacturing environment Responsible for documentation accuracy in a timely manner Ensure equipment is maintained in proper working condition and recommend improvements to ensure continuous safety, quality, and productivity Recommend and support development and process improvements to enhance operational safety and efficiency Driven and motivated to learn the roles and responsibilities your team, gain in-depth knowledge of all production procedures, know how to use tools, and operate machinery Adhere to all facility policies concerning safety, security, and Good Manufacturing Practices Performs other duties as assigned and follows through on requests in a timely manner QUALIFICATIONS Education, Technical Skills, and/or Previous Experience: High School Diploma or GED Minimum of two years’ experience in food production/manufacturing preferred Production Lead experience preferred with the ability to direct, control, correct, and motivate team members to achieve efficiency Basic math and computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) Strong accountability, dependability, and punctuality Other qualifications: Ability to support and encourage team members to perform their best Ability to work cross functionally and collaboratively Strong attention to detail Excellent problem solving and communication skills Flexibility to work shift schedule changes, overtime, holidays, and weekends as needed WORK ENVIRONMENT Warehouse and production manufacturing environment that includes both tempered and ambient areas. The work environment is representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Position requires the ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods, step, balance, crouch, stoop, kneel, squat, bend, must be able to lift minimal 50 lbs. consistently, reach above shoulders, or as needed to complete tasks. Must be able to occasionally climb stairs or a ladder to complete tasks. Position located in a mix of production and office environments and requires a tolerance for consistent cold work environments (-10-40˚ F), high worker traffic, loud noises, odors, dust, and varying room temperatures. Position requires being on the production floor 90% of the time, working in refrigerated areas, frozen storage, and warehouses. Work flexible shifts as required. Understand that overtime and occasional weekends and/or worked holidays will be required based on company needs. The starting hourly base pay for this role is between USD $22.00 and $27.00. The actual base is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands.
