Job Purpose:
The Team Leader Sales, China MCP &MPS-PTA, is responsible for leading and managing the system sales efforts within the Engineering plastic MCP segment & Polyolefin MPS PTA segment in China. Reporting to the Head of MCP & MPS and Managing Director-CCS, this role oversees the sales managers, ensuring the execution of strategic sales initiatives that drive market growth and profitability in the MCP &MPS-PTA segment. The role focuses on market development, customer relationship management, and achieving sales targets aligned with the company's broader objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Leadership and Strategy Execution
- Develop and implement sales strategies specific to the material handling compounding plant (MCP) and material handling PTA (MPS-PTA) market in China, focusing on engineering plastic compounding plant and PTA conveying system sales.
- Lead the sales team to achieve and exceed sales targets within the MCP&MPS-PTA segment, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
- Monitor and analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs within the MCP&MPS-PTA market to adapt and refine sales strategies.
Market and Business Development
- Identify and develop new business opportunities within the MCP&MPS-PTA segment, expanding the company’s presence in the Chinese market.
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with key customers, engineering companies and industry partners, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Collaborate with global and regional sales teams to leverage synergies and share best practices in the MCP&MPS-PTA sector.
Team Leadership and Development
- Lead, motivate, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of sales managers, ensuring they have the necessary skills and tools to succeed in the MCP&MPS-PTA segment.
- Set clear objectives for team members, provide regular performance feedback, and conduct annual performance reviews to foster professional growth.
- Promote a positive and collaborative team environment that encourages innovation and continuous improvement.
Integration and Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work closely with the Head of BU MCP&MPS and other cross-functional teams (such as Engineering, process and procurement) to ensure the successful integration and alignment of system solutions in customer projects.
- Align sales efforts with the technical and commercial strategies of the Large BU Polyolefin and Engineering plastic, ensuring consistency and effectiveness in the market.
Financial Management and Reporting
- Prepare and manage the sales budget for the MCP&MPS-PTA segment in China, ensuring financial targets are met or exceeded.
- Provide regular updates and reports on sales performance, market dynamics, and forecasts to the Head of BU MCP&MPS and Managing Director-CCS
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost optimization within the MCP&MPS-PTA sales operations.
Continuous Improvement and Special Projects
- Lead or contribute to special projects as assigned by the Head of BU MCP&MPS , including new product introductions, market expansion initiatives, or process enhancements in the MCP&MPS-PTA segment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with majored in Mechanical / Chemical Engineering or related fields.
- Proven experience in a sales leadership role within the Polyolefin and engineering plastic industry or a related field.
- Strong leadership skills with a track record of successfully leading and developing sales teams.
- Excellent business development, strategic planning, and market analysis capabilities within the Polyolefin and engineering plastic system sector.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
- Fluent in Mandarin and English; proficiency in additional languages is an advantage.
