ABOUT THE ROLE:
THIS IS A 10-WEEK CONTRACT ROLE
The Brand Ambassador - Northeast will be the face of the brand in the Northeast market and will be essential in building the Urban Remedy brand. We partner with Whole Foods Market to bring our unique and delicious food/drink offerings to consumers and are launching dozens of new locations in the Northeast.
We are looking for a person passionate about healthy living with experience spearheading product demonstrations and sampling events to activate Urban Remedy in the field. Your ability to tell the Urban Remedy brand story, explain product benefits and connect with consumers will drive sales and brand awareness during in-store demos and community events.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Be the face of the Urban Remedy brand locally and role model the brand ethos in market.
- Monitor product quality and ensure compliance with proper food safety & handling procedures.
- Perform basic kiosk maintenance: Facing, stocking, best by date compliance, proper signage, report inventory on hand.
- Educate customers and retail Team Members on our mission, purpose, and program.
- Continually develop your product knowledge and overall knowledge of the natural & organic industry to answer customer questions.
- Maintain the highest level of retail standards and product quality.
- Manage sample inventory.
- Communicate effectively with operations, marketing, account managers and retail partners.
- Report in real time on event/demo traffic and insights.
- Reports to the Regional Account Manager / Director of Shopper Marketing.
- Capture photos/video of activity and reporting numerical outputs/ consumer feedback.
- Execute sampling activity including sample preparation, execution and clean up, and supporting brand activations/events/ in store demonstrations.
- Schedule and host product demonstrations in Whole Foods Market and at event locations in the NY area. (Locations are subject to change based on the needs of the business.)
- Share your passion for natural/organic food through engaging product demos and customer education.
- Create welcoming and attractive demo displays.
- Pro-actively engaging consumers on-site.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Based in the NYC area with frequent travel throughout NY.
- Prior product demo experience REQUIRED.
- Experience working in the natural and organic CPG retail industry, and knowledge of the NYC consumer.
- A love for education and sharing knowledge.
- Personal and professional approach to engaging and connecting people with food.
- Ability to lift 50lbs.
- Ability to travel four days a week and haul demo supplies/product utilizing your own personal vehicle.
- Field marketing, hospitality, or food service experience is a plus.
- Persuasive communication skills and outgoing personality.
- Ability to be on your feet and/or on the go for 4 hours continuously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft office products.
- Ability to thrive in a startup environment and adapt quickly to changing priorities.
- Initiative-taker with a strong work ethic and eagerness to learn and grow.
- Effective communication with the ability to give feedback in a solution-oriented manner.
- Always follows food safety protocols and assumes risks of working in current retail and field environment.
- Strong organizational skills and self-motivation to meet expectations of the role with little management.
- Enthusiastic about our mission to bring clean, convenient food to all.
- Excellent people skills.
COMPENSATION:
- Part time contractor role paid hourly at $25 per hour (DOE), estimating 24 hours/week.
- Compensation for travel miles at IRS rate.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This position spends long periods of time sitting in the car as well as in the store. This position may spend extended amounts of time on the computer/keyboarding as well as using other office equipment such as phone and copier. While working in stores, this position may also lift 25lbs.
