Join us as our new Data Science Student Assistant in Human Health Biosolutions Science & Innovation
As a Data Science Student Assistant, you will be integral to enhancing our digital platforms and products, aiming to deliver top-tier data solutions for our customers. You will join us on our journey to apply cutting-edge data science methods to the microbiome, with a strong emphasis on developing structured and efficient data platforms. If you are passionate about tackling complex challenges, enjoy programming, and excel at translating needs into high-quality code, this role is perfect for you.

In this role you’ll make an impact by:
Supporting several established data solutions and further development of these
Be a part of database design and development – mainly in PostgreSQL
Be a part of developing and maintaining cloud infrastructure for our digital health products
Develop bioinformatics pipelines with a focus on good coding practices in Nextflow
Making data available to highly skilled bioinformaticians
Help with development of advanced analytics and deep learning models on microbiome data
Help with finding new innovative ways of using our data
To succeed you must:
Be a student in a relevant computer science, data science or biotechnology field.
Be at your final BSc year or enrolled in a MSc program.
Be fluent in both oral and written English.
Already possess Python skills with a commitment to good programming and code management practices.
Be able to work between 10-20 hours per week, with flexibility in exam and vacation periods.
It would be a benefit to have:
Knowledge of AWS, Docker, SQL, and Nextflow.
Coursework experience with data science methods in statistics or machine learning.
Experience on the Linux command line.
Interest and experience with metagenomics and microbial genomics.
