What you will do
- Aggressively prospect, close, and grow foodservice accounts, propelling the foodservice business nationally.
- Develop, manage, and support a broker network, including creating sales plans, setting standards/goals, and performing reviews.
- Establish and maintain strong internal and external working relationships.
- Plan, budget, and forecast sales and expenses in the foodservice channel.
- Support overall sales process, setting appropriate metrics for sales management and developing pricing policies as needed.
- Maintain and expand customer base by building and maintaining rapport with key distributors and customers.
- Meet financial objectives through forecasting requirements; prepare an annual budget; schedule expenditures; analyze variances; initiate corrective actions.
- Maintain customer service standards; resolve customer and distributor problems; identify trends; determine areas for improvements and implement them.
- Maintain continual awareness of the competitive environment.
Who are you?
- Possess at least 5 years of foodservice sales and account management experience in the food industry (dairy/frozen experience strongly preferred) with proven success prospecting, closing, and growing various types of foodservice accounts, including regional chains, non-comm, and more
- Have demonstrated success calling on regional and national foodservice distributors
- Have proven broker management experience
- Have established contacts and relationships with potential customers and channel partners
- Are able to attend trade shows and events as necessary, as well as travel to potential & existing customers
- Possess a proven sales track record in a new product/new market environment
- Demonstrate exceptional skills in the following areas: consultative selling, customer presentations, negotiation, analysis, customer service, communication, organization
- Must be a self-starter, have an entrepreneurial mindset, and be able to work in an autonomous environment
- Possess strong ability to plan and manage at both the strategic and operational levels
- Thrive in ambiguous situations and startup environments. You take ownership and create solutions to problems. You are known to drive your own projects with little guidance and oversight.

This is a full-time exempt role based in the U.S. (must live in an area with convenient access to a major airport). We are headquartered in Alameda, CA, where we provide free parking, vegan snacks, free Wednesday lunch, and unlimited coffee/beverages and more.
