A Seasoning Flavorist Level I works independently and in project teams to develop winning seasonings for key local, strategic, regional customers. A Seasoning Flavorist Level I, continues to develop skills in seasoning creation and design and may support more senior Seasoning Flavorists in IFF internal and external projects. A Seasoning Flavorist I may provide mentorship and guidance to Associate Seasoning Flavorists and Trainee Seasoning Flavorists.
Flavor/Seasoning Creation & Design
- Independently manages time and projects for mid-level briefs
- Application and use of Product Experience (PX) data for projects
- Works on projects for key local, strategic, and regional customers, with commercial success
- Demonstrates ability to work within a team and contribute
- Develops presentation skills for both internal and external stakeholders
- Good understanding of GRA, legislation restrictions marketing claims, cost targets on projects
- Navigates the balance between creative design and project constraints (cost, product performance)
- Competent in flavor creation and formulation for specific technologies and delivery systems
Innovation & New Technology
- Drives usage of new technologies and Innovation tools to deliver differentiated winning seasoning design
- Ability to demonstrate excellent seasoning formulation with new tools from Innovation programs
- Develops general understanding of R&D technical approaches and apply understanding to testing methodologies
- Continuous exploration of different application methods, and competent in applying seasonings to various bases
Customer Intimacy & Technical Partnership
- Understands broad business strategy, including strength in core technology, areas for ongoing technology development, and customer segmentation
- Understands the Seasoning Flavorist Level I role, how it fits into the business and contributes to IFF success
- Broadens business understanding of other functions: Production, Quality Control, Sales and Marketing and Product Experience (PX)
- Develops technical network within IFF to collaborate and expand knowledge of raw materials and flavor creation
- Builds customer relationships and brand understanding
- Understands market and market trends
Job Requirements:
- Minimum entry level is a completed University/College Degree
- Master’s degree in Science related area preferred
- Has spent 5 - 7 years in seasoning creation (preferably 2 with IFF)
- Promoted from Associate Seasoning Flavorist or entered at an equivalent level from a competitor
