We’re Minor Figures. Founded on a rooftop in 2014 by three friends with a shared love of coffee, MF has since grown into a global brand with a team of over 100 people across the world, with offices in the UK, USA, and Australia. We create plant-based products for coffee lovers, baristas and a better planet. We love teaming up with people as mad about coffee as we are and love nothing more than heading down to their local cafe to enjoy a chat with the friendly & expert barista.
All our products are 100% plant based and vegan friendly. The company is exploding, achieving record sales figures each quarter.
Minor Figures would be nothing without the independent coffee scene and our products can be found in over 4,000 specialty coffee shops worldwide, where we regularly run Freedays and Minor Figures FM events. We’re also expanding fast, with products lining the shelves in major supermarkets in our three core regions and our team achieving record sales figures quarter-on-quarter.

ABOUT THE ROLE
As the Business Development Manager for the Netherlands, you will be the face of Minor Figures in this market. Based in or around the Amsterdam region, you will be responsible for driving growth and sales by expanding distribution, building our coffee credibility, and opening new cities across the country (nationwide). You will report directly to our Head of Coffee Sales and work closely with our sales, marketing, and operations teams to ensure the successful execution of our growth strategy in the Netherlands.
WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
Grow Distribution Across the Netherlands:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive distribution strategy to increase the availability of Minor Figures products in key retail (on & off-trade) and foodservice channels.
- Identify and establish partnerships with distributors, wholesalers, and key accounts.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activity to identify new opportunities for growth.
Drive Growth and Sales:
- Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and drive market share.
- Analyse sales data and market insights to identify opportunities for sales growth and optimisation.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and partners to ensure long-term success and loyalty.
Build Our Coffee Credibility:
- Act as a brand ambassador for Minor Figures, promoting our products to coffee shops, cafes, and specialty coffee retailers.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute promotional activities, events, and campaigns that enhance our brand’s presence and reputation in the coffee community.
- Provide training and support to baristas and coffee professionals on the benefits and usage of Minor Figures products.
Open New Cities and existing markets by:
- Identify and prioritise key cities (Amsterdam and surrounding ones) for expansion based on market potential and strategic importance.
- Develop and implement city-specific plans to introduce and establish Minor Figures products in new markets.
- Build and maintain relationships with local partners, influencers, and stakeholders to support market entry and growth.
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and market feedback using CRM tools.
- Utilise CRM (Copper) data to improve sales strategies and customer relationship management.
ABOUT YOUR TEAM
Our sales team is broken up into 3 channels:
- On-trade (cafe/ restaurants)
- foodservice
- retail/grocery
We are all coffee people and are very immersed in the coffee community across the UK & Europe but we are equally as passionate about all of our customers and segments of business!
Although the entire team is remote we are a very close-knit bunch. We might be a small team but we truly believe in our product and know how to speak the language of coffee. We like to build lasting relationships within our team as well as with our customers.

Key Skills needed include:
- Proven experience in business development, (field) sales, or a related field, preferably within the food and beverage industry
- Strong understanding of the coffee industry and a passion for coffee culture.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Fluency in the local language and English is required
- Willingness to travel extensively within your region and nationwide

YOUR COMMITMENT
Your main place of work will be out in the field and there will be some travel to our office in London (covered).
Hours of work will generally be 9.00am – 5:30pm but may vary with workload or by agreement. Flexibility is required due to travel requirements. We expect that you will attend trade shows and networking events outside from time to time. Travel will be required to follow up leads and generate sales in accordance with the Minor Figures Travel Policy.
You’ll be based out in the field in your region. Work from home flexibility is supported but we would expect you to be out in the field a minimum of 4 days a week.
