We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to join our team. This is a pivotal role responsible for maintaining the financial integrity of our organization, driving key strategic decisions, ensuring regulatory compliance, and delivering precise financial reporting. The Financial Controller will be instrumental in supporting the company’s growth through robust financial planning, risk management, and team leadership. Additionally, the role will serve as a key stakeholder for both internal and external audits, ensuring transparency and compliance in all financial operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare, analyze, and present comprehensive financial statements, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to ensure transparency and accuracy.
- Financial Planning & Budgeting: Lead the development and execution of financial strategies, including budgets, forecasts, and projections. Identify areas for financial improvement and support long-term growth plans.
- Risk Management: Assess, identify, and mitigate financial risks while ensuring adherence to internal controls and compliance with relevant financial regulations.
- Accounting Oversight: Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including managing the general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll functions. Ensure accurate and timely financial processing.
- Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with local, regional, and international tax regulations. Oversee tax planning and reporting to minimize financial risk and optimize efficiency.
- Financial Analysis: Provide in-depth financial analysis to support strategic decisions, offering insights for cost-saving opportunities, revenue growth, and operational efficiencies.
- Controller & Audit Stakeholder: Act as the main point of contact for both internal and external auditors. Prepare audit documentation, ensure compliance with audit requirements, and address any findings or concerns. Foster strong relationships with auditors to facilitate smooth audit processes.
- Team Leadership & Development: Lead and mentor the finance and accounting team, ensuring they are supported and developing professionally. Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and high performance.
So, what does it take to be successful in this role? :
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A CPA certification is highly desirable.
- Experience: At least 5 years of experience in a financial controller or senior accounting role, with a proven track record of success in financial management.
- Big 4 Audit Experience: Experience working in a Big 4 audit firm (PwC, Deloitte, EY, KPMG) is highly desirable.
- Industry Exposure: Experience in the FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) industry is preferred.
- Expertise: Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS), practices, and financial regulations. Experience with financial software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar), along with advanced Excel proficiency.
- Analytical Skills: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Leadership & Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to lead a team and collaborate across departments. Capable of presenting financial insights to non-financial stakeholders clearly and effectively.
- Audit & Compliance Knowledge: Solid experience in managing audits and maintaining compliance with both internal controls and external regulatory requirements.
- Independence & Teamwork: A self-motivated individual with the ability to work independently and contribute as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
