The Wilmington Research & Development Site is looking for a motivated individual to lead our laboratory procurement and inventory management efforts. This role offers the opportunity to support and create solutions that improve efficiency and support the daily operations of our labs. This individual will work closely with the scientist to ensure materials and services are available to maintain our scientific progress.
Responsibilities:
- Lead & executepurchasingprocesses for Wilmington Molecular Biology team laboratories.
- Interact routinely with other global R&D procurement leaders and support the formation of a procurement network focused on optimizing R&D cost, efficiency, and consistency.
- Document, share, and implement best practices to improve cost, efficiency between and across sites
- Support the development and implementation of global inventory management system and local database.
- Manage and execute procurement of laboratory supplies, services, and equipment
- Work closely with the local warehouse supplier (Thermo-Fisher) to optimize stock room supplies.
- Work with scientists, legal, and corporate procurement on contracts and service agreements.
- Monitor, track, and expedite orders for service, delivery, and issue resolution.
- Interact with corporate procurement and procurement service centers to ensure timely execution of orders
- Develop relationships with vendors and suppliers
- Develop long term procurement and maintenance plan with site leaders.
- Work with Accounts payable on to address question and issues regarding invoicing and payment.
Job Requirements/Qualifications:
- 2-5 Years of experience in scientific and laboratory procurement field
- Experience with corporate procurement software systems (e.g. SAP)
- Experience with accounting and inventory management
- Proficiency with computers, databases, and Microsoft office products (Excel)
- This is not a remote position, presence on site is required for direct interaction with lab scientist/engineers and incoming materials. Work hours are flexible.
