Where are you going to work?
Aviko B.V. is a leading producer of potato products with various production locations in the Netherlands and abroad. Our product range, consisting of a broad range of cooled and deep-frozen potato products, is appreciated by millions of people worldwide. Aviko’s product range services the needs of the supermarket, catering, quick service, and the institutional channel with both fresh and frozen products. Around 75% of our products are destined for export. To accomplish this, we have built up a strong market position in many countries. Modern and environmentally friendly production techniques together with the care for high quality are the foundation of our success.
Our Corporate Research and Development department (CR&D) is focusing on various projects regarding sustainability and the further optimization of our production processes. The team consists of 8 enthusiastic process technologists led by the CR&D manager. This internship will also collaborate closely with the product development team consisting of 10 members.
One of Aviko’s fastest growing products is coated fries. The use of coated fries is a trend that has already been going on for years and was speeded up due to the Covid pandemic related lock downs. During this period home delivered meals trend to speed. Upon home delivery, fries are put in holding containers and bags and consequently the quality decreases over time, as water vapor from the fries cannot escape and condenses onto the fries, resulting in softening and toughening of the crust. Optimization of crust development will be the main part of the internship.
Ideally you can start the internship in February for a period of 4-6 months.
