The Role
As VP - Business Development, you will lead the change in developing and executing market strategies that will position our precision fermentation-derived bioactive proteins as the solution of choice for a variety of industries. You will be a key player in the executive team, working directly with the CEO and COO to spearhead our market growth efforts. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of a company that’s disrupting the nutrition industry. You will be tasked with developing and executing strategies that create unique value propositions for our customers across various sectors, identifying growth opportunities, and managing key relationships to drive sustainable growth and expand our market reach. You will be instrumental in building the business development, marketing, and sales department while ensuring all our product launches are a success.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Market Development: Work closely with the CEO and COO to develop and implement market development and expansion strategies. Analyze and penetrate new markets, positioning PFx Biotech as a leader in advanced nutrition.
Value Proposition Creation: Develop unique, compelling, tailored value propositions for customers across multiple sectors and verticals, ensuring that our offerings meet and exceed market needs.
Intelligent Market & Competitive Analysis: Conduct thorough market analysis, competitive market evaluation, and customer insight research to guide strategic decision making. Position PFx Biotech’s products for success through innovative market strategies.
Stakeholder & Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain outstanding relationships with internal and external key stakeholders. Ensure close collaboration with internal teams, including R&D and operation, to align product innovation with market needs. Drive customer engagement and build long-term partnerships.
New Customer Acquisition & Sales Channel Growth: Lead the efforts to acquire new customers and expand sales channels, introducing innovative concepts that resonate with market trends and demands. Build and maintain relationships with distributors, partners, and customers.
Leadership in Marketing, Business Development & Sales: Lead the creation of PFx Biotech’s Business Development, Marketing, and Sales department from the ground up. Recruit, mentor, develop, and manage a high-performing team focused on delivering results.
Global Vision: Identify international market opportunities and lead initiatives that establish our presence in key regions. Position our bioactive proteins as a global solution for health and sustainability challenges.
Fundraising Support: Provide data-driven, world-class marketing analysis and insights, and competitive positioning that support fundraising efforts. Collaborate with leadership to position PFx Biotech attractively to investors.
Product Launch: Lead the successful launch of PFx Biotech’s bioactive specialty protein products on the market. Design and execute go-to-market strategies that ensure broad market acceptance and strong competitive positioning.
What You Bring:
Proven experience in business development, marketing or sales leadership, ideally within the nutrition, specialty ingredients, food, or life sciences sectors.
Previous experience in launching bioactive ingredients is a plus.
Strong track record of building and scaling business operations, including launching news products and entering new markets.
Strong track record of building and leading high-performing teams.
Excellent analytical skills and experience conducting market and competitive analysis to drive business strategy.
Ability to develop and implement strategic growth initiatives with measurable results.
Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder management skills.
Experience working cross-functionally with R&D, product development, and executive leadership.
A global mindset with experience working in international markets.
Proven ability to support and contribute to fundraising activities through marketing insights and data-driven strategies.
