THE ROLE - B2B Wholesale Commercial Manager
The role has been designed to have overall commercial responsibility and management for Finnebrogue B2B and wholesale business unit (circa £25M per annum). Finnebrogues strategic direction is to grow this area ahead of total business growth and expand our presence in B2B/Wholesale customers across UK/Ireland & internationally.
This is a senior role and requires a strategic, dynamic and experienced commercial manager with a proven track record of delivering profitable growth for food businesses.
DUTIES
Customer presentations, selling strategy and company vision
Price negotiations
Agreeing Joint business plans
Forging strong relationships built on trust and respect.
Understanding customer needs and identifying opportunities.
Dealing with supply crises at senior levels.
Dealing with supply chain issues ranging from late deliveries, shortages, rejections etc.
Understanding limitations of business and how this effects respective customers.
Sound understanding of product specification and being able to converse with customer in a knowledgeable manner.
Owing forecast for each customer and regularly updating internal systems
Attend internal meeting feeding cross functionally on customer requests and requirements.
Liaising cross functionally in preparation for product launches.
Project management
Communicating to customer on behalf of business of any challenges regarding lead time, life into depot, inefficiencies in factory etc
Understanding product costings
Build profitable business proposals for customers with clear rationale
Build profitable promotional proposals understanding effect volume and margin has on bottom line.
NPD briefing documents
Setting up new accounts and agreeing terms and conditions
Checking off and signing Customer payments – for example ORD payments.
Overall responsibility for sales revenue, cash margin and selling costs budget.
What it takes
At least 5 years experience in a similar role
Sound commercial acumen
Experience selling food products
Previous experience working with major UK/Irish food business and/or food wholesalers
Excellent communication skills both externally and internally
Proficient in Microsoft applications including excel and powerpoint
Meat experience desirable
Knowledge of category management desirable
