We are hiring a Site Director that is based at the Totowa, NJ plant and reports directly to the Vice President of Global Operations. As our next Site Director, you will be responsible for overseeing day to day operations of a 200+ employee operation. Responsibilities center on the overall management, direction and coordination of plant operations in executing company objectives. Facility functional areas of Safety, Production, Continuous improvement, Maintenance and Engineering report to this position.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position is responsible for overall employee safety, quality of product and cost of the plant. Additional responsibilities include:
- Direct planning, process development and overall manufacturing performance.
- Develop long range goals and objectives.
- Manage the activities of production, quality control, maintenance, shipping/receiving and plant safety.
- Respond to production problems and peruses and implements solutions.
- Follow all GMP's (Good Manufacturing Practices), FSMA, Safety, and Environmental regulations as well as company policies and company objectives to direct quality and quantity of production..
- Recommend, develop and execute workplace safety, efficiency and improvements to better serve the customer.
- Partner with corporate functional leaders ranging from commercial/sales, safety, quality, reliability, customer service and Finance.
- Collaborate closely with corporate and local HR on union contracts, arbitrations, grievances, employee relations, benefits and training.
- Foster innovative thinking across the plant to excel in safety, quality and cost.
- Create sustainable solutions through the use of Lean Six Sigma and Operational Excellence methodologies.
- Effectively prepare and deliver excellent presentations with the executive leadership team focusing on P&L and continuous improvement in the plants.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Sciences, Business or Engineering. MBA preferred, but not required.
- Ten (10)+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment, including progressively broader management responsibilities.
- Exceptional customer service orientation and demonstrated sense of urgency.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills to provide strong leadership and team building.
- Advanced organizational and multi-tasking skills.
- Financial acumen with an understanding of financial reporting and budget preparation that include analyzing cost, operations and forecast data to determine departmental or divisional progress towards stated goals.
- Familiarity with computer software (PC and mainframe) and computer software, primarily spreadsheets
