Production Supervisor - swing shift - schedule is 3:00 pm - 1:30 am.
The Production Supervisor supervises a staff of production employees and manages the production team activities in accordance of production schedules ensuring unit goals are achieved.
The Supervisor also ensures adherence to established operations and safety policies and procedures, maintains standards in the areas of safety, food safety, housekeeping, attendance, operational discipline, process safety management, and scheduled/unscheduled maintenance, and is responsible for communications up and down the line and for assuring that communications from team members are accurate and complete, along with being accountable for responding to personnel, operational, and safety, and environmental incidents.
- Role model, establish expectations, and drive accountability in Core Values, e.g. Safety/Food Safety, Ethical Behavior, Respect for People, and Environmental Stewardship.
- Provide 24/7 production coverage support through shift rotation. First call point of contact for production issues/area emergencies.
- Ensure safety in day-to-day activities through the execution of site safety policies, including proper permitting, safety audits, housekeeping, and incident investigation/recommendation implementation.
- Direct production teams across multiple units in activities such as coordinating competing production priorities and troubleshooting process and mechanical reliability issues.
- Work directly with technical resources (engineers, laboratory analysts, etc.) to resolve production issues as well as on continuous improvement activities focused on unit processes and equipment.
- Manages/supports team and team members’ performance including shift staffing needs, overtime requirements, performance appraisals, and identifying and resolving performance issues.
- Maintains electronic employee data including accurate weekly timekeeping records.
- Supports the development of team members' functional knowledge, skills (technical & soft), and abilities through formal training activities and mentorship/coaching.
- Perform job duties in a manner that follows food safety and quality guidelines including but not limited to HACCP, GMPs, QA Policies, Sanitation, and Pest Control.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Chemical or Mechanical Engineering is desired) plus 1-3 years minimum Manufacturing experience OR 5 years manufacturing/production facility experience, with two years experience in a lead operator or equivalent capacity.
- Ability to accommodate swing shift - schedule is 3:00 pm - 1:30 am.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
