About the Job
The mission of the Sustainability Manager in the Netherlands is to uphold Danone's purpose-driven mission of bringing health through food to as many people as possible. The role is pivotal to leverage the sustainability priorities on health, planet, people and communities to grow our impact on the local society and business, through project implementation and communication to and with different stakeholders, in order to keep Danone in the Netherlands at the leading edge of sustainability.
Your responsibilities will be to:
Bring our strategy into live!
- Support in the animation of the Sustainability roadmap (Danone Impact Journey) and governance of the business unit in the Netherlands, working transversally with experts on Health (with Research & Innovation teams), Nature (with Operations teams) and Community (with Human Resources) streams.
- Lead the B-Corp roadmap at country level and sustainability internal reporting campaign (Danone Way)
- Contribute to brand superiority and equity by co-building communication & innovation on sustainability
- Support sales teams in landing sustainability collaboration with key retailers.
Spread the word! Communication and engagement:
- Be one of the sustainability champions in the Netherlands contributing to engage and upskill all Danoners (marketing, sales, operations, ….) and animating the Benelux community with internal digital channels.
- Collect local sustainability proof points to feed reporting and build strong narratives
- Co-lead the internal engagement program on sustainability and help organizing events around it
Enhance our external reputation and engagement in local ecosystem
- Contribute to local external stakeholders’ engagement
- Follow local regulations on sustainability topics and ensure business compliance
- Represent Danone & advocate in key sustainability forums and professional associations
- Support operational sustainability roadmaps by identifying partners and co-financing opportunities
Meet your future manager! As a Sustainability Manager you’ll report to Alice Lemesle, Senior Sustainability Manager.
- You have at least 2 years of work experience.
- It goes without saying that you are passionate about sustainable development and all its dimensions!
- You hold a Master’s degree with an analytical approach in Civil Engineering, Bio-Engineering, Business, Economics, etc. An additional Master in Sustainability, Environmental Sciences, would be considered a strong asset.
- You have experience with sustainability projects development & management.
- You have a strong business mindset and curiosity to integrate sustainability into the business strategy (objectives, build strategy, assess & manage business risk & opportunities, etc.).
- You have a strong analytical mindset and enjoy delivering excellent data management and reports
- You have excellent stakeholders management, interpersonal, communication & convincing skills.
- You are fluent written and verbal in English and Dutch. French is an asset.
