This is an excellent opportunity for a dynamic personality who is focused on customer relations and sales. The Sales Engineer focuses on sales within the Industrial Biotech and Fats & Oils Processing Industries. This role serves customers by identifying their needs and engineering adaptations of products, equipment, and services. You will be responsible for selling GEA’s centrifuge product portfolio into the Biotech and Fats & Oils Processing Industries in the Midwest. Technologies include both Decanter and Disc Stack centrifuge equipment in the solid/liquid separation processes.
Responsibilities / Tasks
- Establishes new accounts and maintains existing accounts by reviewing market analyses and determining customer needs and potential sales to achieve order intake.
- Communicates weekly with the Director of RR Sales on needs, sales activities and market climate, etc.
- Prepares and presents technical and sales presentations at industry seminars and to customers.
- Assists with preparing cost estimates and quotations by reviewing project plans, and related customer documents, consulting with engineers, designers, and other professional and technical personnel.
- Determines improvements by analyzing cost-benefit ratios of equipment for applications in customer processes.
- Overnight travel within North America (mostly Midwest), as well as occasional trips to our headquarters in Germany
- Assists with writing proposals, preparing and negotiating final contract including pricing terms and conditions.
- Ensures clear communication and hand-off to project management team.
- Participates in tradeshows and other marketing activities to increase sales volume.
Your Profile / Qualifications
- Undergraduate Chemical Engineering degree
- Will consider fresh graduates
- Demonstrated ability to understand and effectively communicate technical data and engineering systems.
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal
- Must possess good interpersonal skills and work well in a team setting as well as independently.
- Applicant overnight travel approximately 2-3 nights per week
