The Regulatory Compliance Specialist provides critical support in product management to bring new and renewal import products (mainly from South Korea) to market quickly and under compliance. The person will be responsible for monitoring the regulatory environment and help to ensure that ingredients, formulas, labels, and labeling are compliant with the target market.
Job Responsibilities
- Ensure FDA/USDA/CFIA labeling compliance of import product including translation and labeling information verification.
- Coordinate with cross function stakeholders in US and Head quarter in South Korea to ensure labeling compliance.
- Create Nutrient Fact Panels and ingredient statements per appropriate regulatory jurisdiction of the products using Genesis software.
- Assist with the review of product claims made in marketing and sales collateral and other consumer communications for compliance with applicable regulations, guidelines, and company procedures.
- Monitor the regulatory environment and help to ensure that ingredients, formulas, labels, and labeling are updated when new regulations are implemented.
- Assist with review, improvement, development, and implementation of regulatory and compliance processes, procedures, and training.
- Maintain records for auditing purposes.
- Assist with other projects/tasks as assigned.
Skills/Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Food Science, Nutrition, or a related field
- 2+ years of relevant food regulatory experience.
- Knowledge of FDA/USDA/CFIA food labeling regulations and documentation requirements.
- Experiences and knowledge of GENESIS program.
- Must have initiative, be able to work independently, and exercise good judgment.
- Detail-oriented, demonstrates a high degree of accuracy and thoroughness.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of food product development and import/export process are preferred.
- Korean/English bilingual is a must.
