About Us
At Yali Bio we know that solving the climate crisis is only possible if we change the way we eat, and yet plant based foods today often feel like a compromise; the texture and taste don’t hold their own against traditional animal products. This is because they depend on unsustainable palm and coconut oil that contribute to destruction of the rainforest, and don’t taste like the animal fats that we are used to. Using our novel microorganisms and precision fermentation based platform to produce fats identical to what animals make, we hope to empower everyone to make changes to their diet. For the movement towards sustainable eating, we don’t want to make any compromises on flavor that have people questioning whether being sustainable is worth it.
