Overview
The Co-Manufacturing Quality Assurance Specialist will join a dynamic Quality team, reporting to the Sr. Co-Manufacturing Manager of Quality and Supplier Quality. This role is responsible for performing Inventory Hold and Release, Product Quality testing, Complaint Data analysis, Ingredient risk assessment, Co-Manufacturers performance assessment including Audits, and Training Program development. In addition, the role will work closely with R&D and Co-Man Operations to ensure contract manufacturers produce to Califia’s product specifications. Responsibilities will also include partnering with all co-mans on continuous improvement efforts such as root cause investigations, corrective actions, consumer complaints and optimizing performance and cost.
Key Responsibilities
- Reviews and signs off on co-manufacturer quality checks, COAs, and logs to ensure compliance with Quality and Food safety standard prior to finished product release
- Performs timely finished product Releases
- Supports Hold and Release program
- Compiles, analyzes, and generates reports of co-manufacturer performance including complaint data and non-conformances
- Manages co-man product sample shipments and sensory review
- Supports co-man related CAPA activities
- Analyzes co-man related defect data to determine root cause and trends
- Reviews and provides support to update product specifications
- Supports development and deployment of training programs for co-manufacturers on key QA activities
- Develops and maintains positive and professional relationships with all employees and management
- Provides the highest level of internal and external customer service
- Facilitates multiple improvement programs around food safety and quality needs
- Works on other projects as assigned by management
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or appropriate equivalent from an accredited university is preferred
- 2-5 years’ food industry experience
- Able to receive, analyze and report out information efficiently
- Able to perform root cause analysis
- Strong computer literacy including Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Teams, Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and databases
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Occasional travel up to 10% may be required
The expected salary range for this position is between $75,000 - $90,000 per year based on a full-time schedule. Location, confirmed job-related skills and experience will be considered in setting the actual salary.
