It's an exciting time of growth for IFF, we’re inviting dedicated and passionate individual to join us as Designer, Culinary in our Philippines Nourish Taste Division. The role will be directly reporting to the Group Design Leader.
Your Focus
As Designer, Culinary you focus on reactive-/proactive customer projects and work closely in collaboration with the commercial counterparts. You will develop business knowledge & technical skills to become a Designer professional.
How you will contribute
Solution design
- Hands on creation and application of savory products, instant noodle, soups & bullions, sauces, condiments, dressings, processed meat, ready meals/ convenience food and plant-based meats using IFF’s range of products.
- Some understanding about the use of texturants. (e.g.: TVP and ISP), emulsifier, hydrocolloid
- Able to develop solutions to meet client’s briefs for the various markets in SEA.
- Create and continuously renovate and maintain recipes/formulations and processing reports for prototypes.
- Work and navigate independently through work tasks and projects.
- Ensure developments are following the regulatory, religious and customer requirements (GRA legislation, CIU, etc.)
- Handle culinary related applications within tight timelines.
- Stay abreast with new developments in ingredients and application technologies.
- Provide technical assistance to customer when required.
- Ensure that the laboratory is kept in a safe, clean, good maintenance, hygienic work condition always and adhere to IFF EHS policies.
- Always maintain a good stock of raw materials and consumable items
- Contributes to internal trainings and workshops.
Innovation & New Technology
- Anticipates, investigates, and resolves problems related to raw materials, solutions, finished prototypes and initiate scale-up procedures.
- Ensure using new raw materials, advancing technology, and utilizing IFF technology.
- Contributes to category initiatives.
- Liaise with the creation team (flavorists) to use latest and approved IFF materials in application to offer IFF’s proprietary advantage.
Customer Intimacy & Technical Partnership
- Understands and communicates customer business strategy, brands, market preferences and trends.
- Acts and behaves as a strong partner and collaborator to all relevant functions in the business.
- Actively engages with clients to develop end solutions includes researches, refines, and upgrades solutions for client projects.
What you will need to be successful
- Bachelor Degree in Food Science and Technology or related disciplines (such as Chemistry, Biochemistry and Human Nutrition)
- Minimal 8 - 10 years of relevant experiences in the food and flavor industry, handling flavors and ingredients with focus on savory/ culinary.
- Exposure to Snack seasonings.
- Demonstrated capability in experimental design, detailed results analysis, and sound technical judgement.
- Open and innovative mindset
- Sound knowledge in project task and time management.
- Ability to present in-front of customer.
- Demonstrated creativity and an innovative mindset.
- Good team player, embraces diversity, ability to work under pressure, be curious.
