About the Role
Position Title/Job Function: Social Media Associate
Position Objective: Promote the Physicians Committee's campaigns, scientific studies, books, conferences, and videos in digital and social media. Create social media posts that help team members reach new and diverse followers for our campaigns and educational programs.
About the Communications Team: The Physicians Committee's communications team works to maximize publicity for our campaigns, programs, and research studies through traditional and social media. The team oversees all media relations, social media, videos, advertising, digital marketing, and website management for the organization.
Essential Functions:
- Develop and execute social media strategies across multiple platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and YouTube, ensuring our online presence is up to date and professional.
- Coordinate social media graphics and videos to stay current with trends.
- Manage existing social media pages and introduce new pages as trends shift and experts are added to the team.
- Collaborate with internal and external teams to integrate social media into broader marketing campaigns and initiatives.
- Research social media trends and inform the team of changes that are relevant to our activities.
- Implement best practices to grow social media accounts.
- Track and analyze social media metrics to measure campaigns' success and identify improvement areas.
- Keep the holiday and food day calendar up to date and schedule and monitor correlating posts.
- Engage with followers, influencers, and celebrities on platforms.
- Monitor social media accounts, including responding to comments and messages.

Required Physical Abilities: Office work plus the ability to travel to events
Work Location: This is a full-time position that may be performed remotely from any location in the United States. Candidates in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area are preferred.
Required Travel: Approximately quarterly to support events
Work Schedule: This is a full-time exempt position (40+ hours per week). The Physicians Committee's core business hours are 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. ET, Monday through Friday. This position involves occasional posting on the weekend and attending evening and weekend events on a quarterly basis.
Position Level: Associate
Salary: A salary offer will take into consideration education, experience, and skills along with internal and external reference points. Candidates are encouraged to discuss salary with a position's hiring manager early in the interview process to ensure alignment.
