Your Opportunity
Schedules market transportation. Performs related administrative duties pertaining to transportation and sanitation departments.
Core Responsibilities
Assist with all in-bound and out-bound animal scheduling, customer sales and transportation.
Responsible for monitoring certain aspects of pig flow information including, but not limited to, weekly sales, scheduling of market animals to plants, and scheduling of culls to Duplin Marketing.
Utilizes AS400 system for pig flow and scheduling purposes.
Able to work independently or in a team environment.
Responsible for being in compliance with all environmental laws and procedures to which Smithfield Hog Production subscribes.
Incumbent will be responsible for understanding and complying with company SIPS, EMS and BMS policies and procedures while performing their job duties.
Report all environmental issues immediately to their supervisor.
Read and understand the company’s emergency notification process and will be responsible for reviewing that policy at their work site.
Creates market schedule, assigns load crews and drivers to loads.
Work with grower issues in a professional manner as needed.
Complete required weekly reports including, but not limited to, transportation and sanitation KPIs.
Works with manager to complete payroll for market haul, load crews and sanitation.
Responsible for processing and filing driver paperwork including swine movement tickets.
Responsible for administrative duties pertaining to sanitation department including, but not limited to, keying in washes.
Monitor and coordinate repairs, maintenance, and update records in TMT.
Ensures compliance of federal and state DOT requirements.
Work with vendors and accounts payable to ensure proper and timely payment.
Effectively communicate with the packing plant.
Qualifications

Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school or equivalent combination of education and experience
Must be Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Software.
Must be proficient in AS400, JDE, Methos, TMT, GPS Insight, PeopleNet, Tom Tom Google Earth updates.
Ability to utilize, if needed, and have working knowledge of Continuous Move Planner (CMP) Routing.
Deal with public and employees in a professional manner at all times. Provides effort and emphasis to customer satisfaction.
Must be willing to work weekends and flexible hours if needed outside the normal work schedule.
Excellent phone skills, organizational, and prioritization skills.
Must understand DOT rules and regulations including HOS (hours of service) rules.
