General Mills is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to work in our Performance and Consumer Analytics (PCA) team within Commercial, Measurement, and Revenue Analytics (CMRA). The PCA team provides strategic business performance and consumer analytics that enable business teams to better illuminate growth insights and identify potential actions to take related to strategic business questions.
This position is focused on building, scaling, and applying data science capabilities to identify and predict strategic growth opportunities serving as an integral technical partner to our Consumer Insights (CMI) teams.

As part of the PCA team, you will apply analytical rigor, critical thinking, and creativity to solve complex issues while working with business teams. This will require leveraging external partners, working with peers in the PCA data science teams, and partnering with end business users to develop a world class ecosystem.

KEY ACCONTABILITIES
We are looking for someone to help further our advanced analytics and data science capabilities to predict and deliver business growth. The right candidate will have demonstrated technical and business experience and can lead the continued growth of our capabilities that align with our strategic business decisions. This would include:
- Create and follow analytics project plan while collaborating closely with CMI team in an agile manner
- Proactively help identify business team needs, and develop and leverage various analytics methods to produce sound business insights that can be scaled and applied across global business areas
- Generate and combine insights from large and/or disparate data sources and analytics tools to predict new growth potential, and also translate into meaningful and actionable results that exhibit strong business acumen
- Partner and collaborate with others within the CMI function on creative problem-solving and innovation, serving as an analytics consultant, advisor, and translator
- Effectively communicate and translate results to all levels of the organization to influence business decisions and strategies
- Staying abreast of latest advances in data science, analytics and consumer insights, while identifying opportunities within General Mills for application
- Mentoring others in methods, storytelling, and partnership-building
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar analytics discipline (i.e. Applied Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, etc.) and 7+ years in data science or marketing analytics roles, building or leveraging advanced analytics, statistical, and machine learning methods
- OR Master’s degree in Data Science or similar analytics discipline and 5+ years in data science or marketing analytics related role
- Demonstrated experience translating analytics results, turning analytics into actionable business strategies, and delivering on business objectives
- Demonstrated experience of partnering with stakeholders and creating and maintaining strong relationships
- Proficient with R, Python and SQL scripting languages
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior experience working in the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) or retail industry
- Experience working on a global team with remote team members using agile methodologies
- Prior experience working within business, strategy, consulting, or insights teams
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform or other cloud based systems
- Experience and understanding of syndicated data, including Point of Sales and panel: Nielsen, IRI, etc.

Salary Range
The salary range for this position is $106800.00 - $178100.00 / Annually. At General Mills we strive for each employee's pay at any point in their career to reflect their experiences performance and skills for their current role. The salary range for this role represents the numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, educations, skills, work experience, certifications, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
