Summary: This is an entry-level, onsite position that will allow the individual in the role to gain exposure to all the HR functions and assist Plant Operations with administrative activities. Serve as the first point of contact for general HR inquiries from all levels of the organization.
- Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Act as HRIS Portal Administrator: password support, badges; and entering new hires.
- Conducts new employee orientation and E-Verifications.
- Maintains employee personnel files and ensures documents are uploaded to Dayforce.
- Employee record management.
- Works closely with the HR Alsip Team to assist scheduling interviews, process drug screen and background checks, and other key tasks.
- Employee recognition communication.
- Assist with employee events such as Employee Appreciation Day, local town halls, Service Award Luncheon and Softball games.
- Coordinate temporary staffing and timecards.
- Maintain company uniforms program.
- Assists with benefits enrollment process.
- Maintains HR bulletin board.
- Maintains the highest standards of confidentiality.
- Creates and maintains HR and plant supporting reports as necessary.
- Admin support: invoices, office supplies, personnel records, vendors, etc.
- Support additional HR projects, tasks, and events as they arise.
- Must be able to work twice a month on an off shift to support HR needs.
- Qualifications:Associates degree in Human Resources or Business. Bachelor's is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and interpersonal skills.
- Eager to learn and self-motivated.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage tasks and support ongoing projects.
- Previous experience working in a Human Resources Department or as a Human Resource Intern is preferred.
- Passionate about Human Resources.
- Experience working with confidential or sensitive material.
- A high level of integrity and professionalism.
- Proficient with MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS Outlook. HR Systems a plus.
