The Senior Mechanic is a multi-craft maintenance position responsible for performing a variety of tasks assigned by Maintenance Supervision.
This position operates on a 12-hour rotating shift from days to nights on a 36/48 hour weekly rotation. Every other weekend this position works on a Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Summary:
- The Senior Mechanic is a multi-craft maintenance position responsible for performing a variety of tasks assigned by Maintenance Supervision.
- Tasks include but are not limited to checking, adjusting, troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- The position also requires the fabrication and replacement of piping systems as well as the welding of carbon, stainless, aluminum and other alloys as needed.

Qualifications:
- Possess a strong mechanical aptitude. A mechanical aptitude test will be utilized as part of the selection process.
- Must be able to repair pumps, and various other mechanical and electrical hardware used in the plant.
- Have the ability to exercise a high level of responsibility and be task motivated.
- Must possess and exercise sufficient math and measuring skills to make equipment adjustments and perform pipe replacement and fabrication.
- Be able to operate a variety of hand and power tools, shop equipment and machine tools.
- Have the ability to install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair a wide range of electrical circuitry, including motors, control panels and Distributed Control System equipment and instrumentation.
- Follows safe working practices and makes appropriate use of related safety equipment as required.
- A basic understanding of software programs such as Word and Excel is desirable.
- Reads and interprets manuals, drawings, and specifications
- Must have the ability to weld carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and various other alloys. Prior welding certification(s) desirable but not required.

- GTAW (TIG)
- GMAW (MIG)
- Good social and communicative skills.
Education and Work Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 5+ years’ experience with the installation, maintenance and repair of industrial equipment such as pumps,
