In this role you'll make an impact by:
Being responsible for the development of the production staff; providing proper coaching and mentorship and development opportunities to the team.
Increasing operator competences, propelling growth and support within production team.
Developing and implementing training and certification program + follow up operator’s performance and development. (Increase operator engagement)
Communicating job expectations; and adhering to policies and procedures. Monitoring, appraising job contributions; open and follows up on disciplinary acts, and performance improvements.
Possess interpersonal skills including the ability to influence behaviors, address incorrect attitudes and resolve conflicts.
Maintaining reliability of equipment with preventive maintenance program to be performed by operators, increasing their technical skills and capabilities.
Improving production downtime by problem solving, transferring knowledge and learnings, and anchoring into standards.
To gain flexibility on site and to balance resources and workload during low and peak season. Increasing competences for operators across pro-duction lines and bring and manage temporary workforce as needed.
Increase site and individual performance through the promotion of Training & Skill matrix, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), and Lean methodologies & techniques.
Must drive and contribute on the continuous improvement and lean efforts on site. Will drive site KPIs, as well as support the overall site KPIs. Using and promoting the use of lean tools.
Contribute to improve reliability while ensuring safety and compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
Recruits, selects, manages the performance of, counsels, trains, and develops all team members and temporary workforce.
Supervise workforce personnel to ensure work does not affect site safety, quality, and delivery. Protect health and safety, by working in compliance with established safe working practices.
Oversees operation of all production lines and ensures current controlled documents are followed. Operates within instructions, policies, and procedure, PMDs. Promote the appropriate use of equipment operation, safety, LOTO, equipment maintenance and sets-ups.
Develops, maintains, and updates production equipment work instructions and preventive maintenance documentation.
Ensure resources are committed to supporting root-cause analysis, 3Cs, A3s, and rapid improvement events to support the site continuous improvement process.
Drive continuous improvement activities and cost savings. Lead KPIs as well as support the site KPIs to meet site targets.
Works with the production team, as well as other departments, to optimize all processes involving production, ensure they are followed and documented.
Be available, when necessary, to come onsite during off-hours in case of emergency.
Potentially relevant experience:
At least (3) years of experience in plant operations within engineering, operations, safety and/or maintenance and with supervision duties. Ability to understand, assess and change priorities quickly to respond to deadlines and/or unforeseen events.
Business experience with Microsoft Office Suite programs.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with formal presentation skills. Candidate should be effective at problem solving and be comfortable multitasking and conflict resolution.
Experience in lean process manufacturing sites preferred. Total Productive Maintenance Experience (TPM) highly desired.
Experience in fermentation processes preferred.
Work productively in an environment with high levels of interruption.
