One of our scientists has accepted a new challenge in another part of the company, and we are looking for a dynamic and results-oriented scientist/engineer to complement our Cellulosics R&D team.
We are a world leader in cellulose-based food ingredients technology and are on an ambitious and challenging journey to grow our business and develop new, sustainable, and improved solutions for the food industry. To advance the journey, we are looking for a scientist/engineer with the expertise to support our business on a global scale.
You will leverage cross-functional disciplines within our global innovation R&D community and work with an agile development team of scientists, engineers, and technologists to span product development from laboratory experiments to customer-focused solutions.
You will be directly responsible for new product development projects and bridge the process from (experimental) lab scale to pilot scale. In cooperation with our Process R&D and Manufacturing Technology departments you will also be involved in process maturation, as well as technical support when bringing new solutions to the market.
Cellulosics R&D is part of Functional Ingredients R&D, Nourish. We are based in Brabrand, Denmark, and you will report to the Technical Lead of the team.
Main Responsibilities
- Product development of new innovative food ingredients.
- Building of knowledge that can explain the connection between operational parameters, physical properties, and application performance.
- Coordination of work in the lab and reporting of results.
- Qualification of new raw materials for our production.
- Support to the scale-up of lab processes to pilot and full-scale production.
- Coordinate testing of prototypes in our food application development labs.
- Participate in technical service tasks to support internal and external customers.
Job Requirements
- Master or PhD within a relevant technical field, chemical or biotech engineer.
- The preferred candidate may have a few years of experience but can also be newly graduated.
- Strong technical competences in engineering fundamentals and ability to interpret data and apply scientific principles and concepts.
- Ability to work cross functionally with process, R&D, production, application, analytical and commercial teams.
- Data-based decision making and strong result-driven approach to project decisions.
- Project management skills or an interest in developing skills to become a project leader.
- Ability to deliver results and bring tasks and projects to reliable and timely completion.
- Ability to effectively present results in both informal and formal settings.
- International experience and willingness to undertake occasional travelling.
