About the Role: The Food Production Manager will be responsible for leading the daily operations of our food production team in Indiana, ensuring that all processes run smoothly, efficiently, and in accordance with strict quality and safety guidelines. This role is crucial to maintaining our commitment to delivering fresh, high-quality food for dogs. You will oversee staff, manage production schedules, maintain equipment, and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Production Oversight: Manage the day-to-day operations of the food production facility, ensuring all processes are efficient and production targets.
- Quality Control: Implement and maintain strict quality assurance processes to ensure that every product meets The Pawco high standards for safety, nutrition, and consistency.
- Staff Management: Lead, train, and supervise production team members, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.
- Inventory & Supply Chain: Work closely with the San Francisco team to manage inventory, ensuring materials are available for production while minimizing waste.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations (e.g., FDA, USDA), as well as internal health and safety policies.
- Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve production processes, including implementing new technologies or methodologies that increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Equipment Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance and repair of production equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum operational efficiency.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including procurement, logistics, and R&D, to align production with overall company goals.
Requirements:
- Proven experience (5+ years) in food production management, preferably within the pet food manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of food safety and quality standards (e.g., HACCP, GMP).
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to handle production scheduling, workforce planning, and budget management.
- Experience with supply chain coordination and inventory management.
- Familiarity with food production equipment and facility maintenance.
- Strong problem-solving and process improvement skills.
