Work Shift: Day Pay Type: Salary Hourly Rate (if applicable): N/A Targeted Base Salary Range (if applicable): $83,600.00 - $108,400.00 JOB OVERVIEW: Leads a team of individuals within the Facilities Maintenance department to drive success in five key focus areas, safety, quality, service, performance, and people. Provides direction, goals, development, and feedback to direct reports, which includes department leads, planners, frontline maintenance team members, and external partners. Responsible for the upkeep of all facility assets. Will be responsible for maintaining and adhering to the facilities department's budget, including in-house expenses and outside services. Additionally, will be responsible for the coordination, cost justification, and budgeting of minor projects in the plant miscellaneous and/or facilities category. RESPONSIBILITIES: ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Promotes a safety-first environment while following and enforcing all safety rules throughout the facility. Ensures compliance with all local, state, and federal regulatory requirements involving food safety and GMPs. Oversees all facilities maintenance functions for assigned shift to meet Business Unit strategies, goals, and objectives, and completing report on reasons for not meeting schedule. Assigns daily work to team members; distributes planner work packs and provides personnel availability to Facilities Planner. Ensures daily work is completed and reviews Work Order completion for all facilities maintenance, repairs, and modifications to all equipment and facilities. Works with Facilities Planner to reschedule “Held” work for a later date and update the daily work schedules. Schedules and coordinates facilities maintenance activities with all appropriate stakeholders. Ensures daily direction to team members and planners have all pertinent information to support daily goals which results in the success of facilities maintenance and production in the five key focus areas. Determines priorities and alters daily schedule as required. Point of contact for all emergency calls on shift and obtain emergency parts, requisitions, and arrange for contractors. Collaborates with plant leadership to establish, communicate, and execute measurable maintenance, production, and cultural goals to deliver uncompromised safety, quality, service, performance, and people objectives in support of plant operations and the broader Blue Diamond Growers organization Supports and develops key performance indicators that provide an ongoing real-time status towards achieving the day-to-day requirements to ensure that service levels are achieved. Ensures a smooth shift transition by providing information on carryover and ongoing jobs to incoming crews. Monitors and reports Storeroom items that are obsolete or items requiring improvements through alternative parts. Coordinates assigned projects from start to finish, including all aspects of planning, coordinating, cost justification, budgeting, implementation, third-party and OEM contractors as necessary, communication, stakeholder meetings, and proper training and handoff plan upon completion. Anticipates problem issues before they arise and takes corrective action leveraging the preventative maintenance program to do so. Conduct root cause analysis and develop corrective action plans to mitigate or eliminate issues. Works with departmental manager in the development and implementation of facility maintenance cost standards; acts as a resource in team settings to better understand and meet customer needs. Stays abreast of cutting-edge technology through external trade shows and benchmarking of similar facilities including professional seminars. Applies sound motivational and coaching techniques, including team member developmental feedback and recognition for good work. Oversees employee contributions and potential growth so that opportunities for greater contributions can be capitalized. Contribute to the development of effective employee training programs, including areas of GMPs and safety awareness. Helps drive and champion our “Zero Harm” behavioral-based safety program. Recommends and implements systems, training, and/or process controls for efficient operations, quality, and productivity through continuous improvement and lean principles by establishing and communicating performance measures and results. Review reports prepared by team members for clarity, completeness, accuracy, and conformance with company policies. Route approved reports and records to appropriate points of contact. Schedule and coordinate facilities maintenance activities between operations, maintenance, and third-party contractors. Acts as a team player to support the goals and objectives of the facilities maintenance department and of Blue Diamond as a whole. Minimum number of year(s) of experience required in addition to education plus type(s) of functional experience 2 years of maintenance/operations leadership or project management experience Other required type(s) of functional experience (e.g. Production/Operations, Accounting, Forklift Operator, Inventory Control, etc.) Experience meeting deadlines and deal with high-pressure situations. Experience presenting technical concepts and ideas. Will have continuous contact with employees at all levels of the organization as well as external customers in the business and technical field. Must be able to physically move throughout the facility, including climbing multiple flights of stairs, ladders, elevated catwalks and tight access areas. Able to sit/work at a desk for extended periods of time doing things such as analytical work or reports, which requires focus, while utilizing a computer. Total minimum number of years of experience required in lieu of degree (if applicable) 5 years of maintenance/operation experience. 4 years of project management experience Other job requirements (e.g. certifications/licenses, CPG experience, work overtime/weekends, etc.) On call 24 hours a day for emergency situations. Weekend work is required as needed. Demonstrated ability to write and interpret complex documents in a clear and concise manner. Project management, scheduling, and budgeting experience. Act independently in a constructive manner. Must be able to exhibit flexibility in a 24/7 work-environment, with off-shift work occasionally required. Demonstrated leadership ability through discovering and utilizing people’s capabilities, recognizing good work and earning the respect of peers and subordinates. WORK ENVIRONMENT Must be able to work in a plant environment being exposed to dust, high noise levels, extreme temperature and humidity fluctuations, dirty work conditions, fumes and odors from welding and other maintenance processes, poor lighting, and wet operation work conditions.
