Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated Research & Development (R&D) Intern to join the Corbion team in Lenexa, KS. The successful candidate should be passionate about conducting food processing and shelf life research in refrigerated food applications using natural antimicrobial and antioxidant ingredients.
Responsibilities:
- Under general supervision, work on a project to be completed by the end of summer.
- Present research findings to R&D team.
- Assist and execute refrigerated food projects along with R&D Scientists to address the needs of our customers. Project work including but not limited to food processing, ingredient functionality, sensory testing, and finished food matrix analysis.
- Report/discuss work status and other critical information with peers and R&D management.
- Be flexible in taking additional tasks as needed to support business goals.
- Assist in maintaining a lab environment that is clean, organized, and work ready.
- Cultivate a team atmosphere with peer groups and upper management.
Education Major: Food Science, Food Chemistry, or related fields. Technical training or previous experience is a plus.
