Position Purpose:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the optimal performance of plant equipment through the installation, repair, and troubleshooting of electrical and mechanical systems. The role supports the site's overall operational efficiency and safety.
Position Schedule:
- Based Monday – Friday, Day Shift, 40-hours per week. Overtime as needed.
- Rotating on-call coverage with maintenance supervisor & other maintenance technicians required.
Essential Duties:
- Safety & Compliance: Strictly follow all safety regulations and maintain clean, sanitary, and orderly work areas with an emphasis on food safety standards
- Preventative Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical systems to minimize downtime
- Electrical Systems: Install new electrical circuits and troubleshoot existing systems, including diagnosing faults in control panels, motors, and wiring
- Welding: Perform sanitary TIG welding for production equipment and facility modifications, adhering to food safety and GMP standards
- Pump Maintenance: Replace and maintain sanitary and industrial pump seals, ensuring alignment, proper sealing in fluid-handling equipment
- Emergency Repairs: Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production machinery and utility services
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:
- High school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience.
- 4+ years of manufacturing plant maintenance and/or repair experience
- Strong understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and electrical systems including industrial HVAC
- Competent electrically from 24VDC to 480VAC
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Suite Applications: Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Strong safety awareness and adherence to safety procedures and SOPs
- Understand and follow written and verbal job instructions
- Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously
- Ability to read and understand documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and written procedures
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills to work with and influence people with different backgrounds and job functions
- Excellent teamwork skills
- Be productive and stay on task with little or no supervision
- Ability to be on call evenings and weekends
Preferred:
- Knowledge of PLCs, VFDs, and instrumentation
- Knowledge of GMPs, HACCP, and FDA compliance preferred
