Luya Foods was founded in
2021 with a clear mission: We want to leave the current hype around meat
copies behind and create a new, innovative category of plant-based
alternatives to meat that are delicious, juicy and natural. Why? Because
we are convinced that we need to change the way we eat and use our
resources today to save our planet.
**R&D Intern**
We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our food startup as
intern with a focus on solid-state fermentation of food products. You
will be responsible for executing projects related to food fermentation
and microbiology.
**duration**: 6 months.
Tasks
Specific tasks depend on the the assigned project. But overall:
- Execute solid-state fermentation with industrial sidestreams and filamentous fungi and bacteria.
- Interprete sensors data and generate conclusions.
- Support the developpment of new products.
Requirements
- Students looking for an exciting start-up where to develop a MSc thesis, for at least 6 months.
- Students enrolled in MSc program in Biology, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Food Science, Chemistry or related areas.
- Familiarity using laboratory equipment.
- Adaptable mindset. You can work in short projects and shift priorities constantly.
- Capacity to interpret results and make correlations with literature data.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- You can communicate in English.
