Position Overview The Retail Sales Associate is an ambassador of the Bob’s Red Mill Whole Grain Store by sharing production knowledge, building relationships, and elevating service.
Essential Job Functions
Shares product knowledge enthusiastically and accurately to elevate service and increase sales.
Operates cash register with a high level of accuracy and efficiency.
Stocks shelves and ensures proper merchandise rotation.
Ensures merchandise is properly tagged, stickered, and displayed.
Provides friendly and engaging customer service.
Confronts and resolves difficult situations in a proactive, objective, professional, and solution-oriented manner.
Communicates effectively with individuals, groups, peers, management, and the general public.
Ensures a clean, organized, safe, and respectful environment for guests and employees.
Complies with all company policies and procedures and operates all equipment in a safe and food-safe manner.
Complies with Bob’s Red Mill food safety policies and procedures including adherence to FDA regulations, Safe Quality Food (SQF) Standards, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
Responsible for reporting food safety and quality concerns to Supervisors and/or Department Manager.
Performs other duties and tasks as assigned.

This position reports to the Retail Supervisor.

Education and Experience
Previous experience in customer service, AND
High school diploma or equivalent; OR
Any combination of education and additional years of experience that provides the necessary skills, knowledge, and ability to perform assigned tasks.
Physical Demands
Position requires continued walking or standing for up to 4 hours at a time.
Position requires the ability to bend, squat, reach, pull, grasp, lift, carry, and climb frequently.
Position frequently requires the ability to lift products weighing up to 50 pounds up and down ladders and from ground level to various levels of racking.
Must be able to use stairs, step stool, and tower ladders.
Work Environment
The primary work environment for this position is within the store. A small percentage of the time may be outdoors where temperatures vary.
Employees will be exposed to common food allergens.
