Work Shift: Day Pay Type: Salary Hourly Rate (if applicable): N/A Targeted Base Salary Range (if applicable): $126,900.00 - $164,700.00 JOB OVERVIEW: We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager for our Grower Connect Marketplace team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for generating sales, driving grower adoption, and sourcing various categories to expand our marketplace offerings. You will play a key role in developing and executing strategies to grow our marketplace by identifying and securing new business opportunities. The grower connect marketplace aims to provide procurement, sourcing, and negotiation services to the agriculture industry, with a focus on serving the underserved agriculture markets. The objective is to help our grower owners reduce their input costs by leveraging our collective buying power and to negotiate favorable deals with global strategic suppliers and Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs). RESPONSIBILITIES: ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Sales Generation: Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve and exceed revenue targets. Identify and pursue new business opportunities to drive marketplace growth. Build and maintain strong relationships with potential and existing clients. Conduct market research to identify current sales opportunities and trends. Grower Adoption: Develop and execute strategies to increase grower participation in the marketplace. Educate growers on the benefits and opportunities of joining the marketplace. Provide ongoing support and resources to ensure successful grower adoption and retention. Collaborate with marketing and customer support teams to create effective onboarding programs. Sourcing Categories: Identify and source new product categories to enhance the marketplace offerings. Negotiate terms and agreements with suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and product quality. Monitor market trends and competitor activities to stay ahead in the marketplace. Work closely with the procurement team to ensure a seamless supply chain process. Strategic Planning and Execution: Develop and implement strategic plans to drive business growth and market expansion. Analyze sales data and market trends to identify areas for improvement and growth. Prepare regular reports on sales performance, grower adoption rates, and marketplace growth. Conduct market research and analysis to stay updated on industry trends, pricing fluctuations, and supply and demand dynamics for various agricultural commodities Develop and set a multi-year supplier sourcing strategy that supports BDG overall growth and business objectives and understand the current and future supply base to position BDG in the market. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing, procurement, and customer support. Communicate effectively with the Senior Manager of Strategic Sourcing to align goals and strategies. Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences. Analytics: Utilize data analytics to drive business decisions and optimize marketplace strategies. Analyze sales data, grower adoption rates, and market trends to identify areas for improvement and growth. Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs). Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis to support strategic planning. Technical Process Mapping: Map out technical processes to ensure seamless integration and operation of the marketplace. Collaborate with IT and product development teams to design and implement efficient processes. Identify and address any technical issues or bottlenecks that may impact marketplace performance. Document and update technical process flows regularly to reflect changes and improvements.
