ABOUT THE ROLE
Are you passionate about the manufacturing side of biotechnology? Join our team as a Production Technician and play a key role in shaping the future of cultivated meat. The ideal candidate will take pride in executing their assigned work in a precise and accurate way. You'll ensure smooth production operations, adhering to regulatory standards, while continuously improving and adapting to new processes and equipment. RESPONSIBILITIES
Your key responsibilities include:
- Cell Media Production: Follow SOPs to produce ingredient aliquots and formulate growth media, ensuring product quality and consistency.
- Quality Control (QC): Conduct quality control tests, including microbial and cell-based assays, on ingredients and final products. Contribute to improving QC methods.
- Final Product Processing: Manage sterile filling, packaging, labelling, and ensure safety protocols are maintained during product handling.
- Logistics and Order Fulfillment: Oversee the shipping process to ensure timely, accurate delivery. This includes managing orders, scheduling, selecting carriers, and monitoring shipments.
- Laboratory & Facility Maintenance: Perform maintenance tasks, manage inventory via an electronic lab notebook (ELN), maintain stock levels, place orders, and ensure a clean, organized environment.
- Data Management & Traceability: Collect, log, and analyse data related to inventory, manufacturing, and QC to ensure traceability and regulatory compliance.
- Equipment Management: Operate, maintain, and arrange servicing of production equipment. Coordinate equipment use and assist in sourcing new machinery.
- Quality Assurance (QA): Assist in improving SOPs, QC methods, safety protocols, and risk assessments to maintain regulatory standards.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

- Educational background in biotechnology, molecular biology, biochemistry, bioengineering, food sciences, or related fields, and/or 1-2 years relevant manufacturing experience.
- Strong attention to detail, with good organization, documentation, and multitasking abilities.
- Good communication skills and a collaborative team player.
- Experience in creating, maintaining, and following SOPs.
- Proactive, with the ability to work independently.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and process optimization.
The following skills and experiences would help you stand out even more:
- Hands-on experience in industrial quality control.
- Experience with cell culturing and/or cell media production in sterile settings.
- Experience managing multiple projects, including scheduling and resource allocation.
- Familiarity with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and/or Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).
- Experience with Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001, ISO 22000, HACCP).
