Join us as our new Research Associate / Sr. Research Associate
Are you ready for a role that lets you use both your scientific and communication skills in a highly collaborative environment? As a Research/Sr. Research Associate, you will be responsible for performing laboratory experiments to demonstrate enzymatic performance in food products and processes, as well as work with teammates in optimizing the application of enzymes in creating food products and protein ingredients. Your experimentation, sample analyses, and communication of the results from these experiments will ultimately lead to innovative products and solutions implemented in the marketplace. This is a dynamic environment, and the type of experiments will shift based on demand. Responsibilities may include colorimetric enzymatic activity analyses and food analyses using HPLC, IEC and SDS-PAGE, among other techniques, as well as creating and characterizing plant based dairy and meat products, functional foods, and new protein ingredients with improved functionality.

You will be part of a dynamic team of Scientists and Research Associates with diverse backgrounds, providing technical service in the customer-facing Food and Beverage industry. This team supports North American customers.
In this role you’ll make an impact by:
• Supporting the implementation of enzymatic technology in customer’s products and processes
• Independently carrying out laboratory work to support customers
• Driving improvements to laboratory workflows and processes to increase efficiency and data quality
• Ensuring traceability through strong documentation and reporting
• Maintaining a safe and functional laboratory space
• Using knowledge of food formulation and processing to create prototypes highlighting the impact of enzymes
To succeed you must hold:
• BS or MS degree in scientific discipline such as Food Science, Biochemistry or Chemistry
• Analytical method development experience
• Knowledge of and basic experience in food formulation development, food GMP’s, and food processing equipment
• Ability to independently plan and execute routine and non-routine laboratory experiments
• Knowledgeable in optimizing and developing laboratory methods and workflows
• Demonstrated success with attention to detail and time management
• Initiative for completing tasks with a positive attitude and a sense of urgency
• A desire to learn and develop new skills with a proactive approach
• Strong laboratory techniques and knowledge as well as organizational skills
• Ability to interpret and summarize data; statistical analysis skills are a plus
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work in the United States currently and in the future without sponsorship
