Position Overview The Director of People will build safety and credibility throughout the organization via exceptional service delivery and establishing relationships with leadership and employee owners. They incorporate Bob’s Red Mill values and approach into HR processes, programs, and communications. As an effective listener, advocate, and problem solver, the Director of People Operations optimizes HR processes and practices to serve employee owners’, leadership, and organizational interests. This leader fosters a workplace environment that aligns HR priorities with our purpose, vision, and values.
In addition to strategic leadership, the Director of People also focuses on tactical functions. Expertise in all areas of HR including total rewards, compliance, employee relations, HRIS, analytics, learning and development, and inclusion, diversity and equity will be necessary. Specialized knowledge in total rewards, compliance, and analytics is preferred. This leadership role will be responsible for coaching, mentoring, and developing HR talent while building cross-functional strategic partnerships throughout the leadership team.
Essential Job Functions
Strategy Implementation
Partner with leadership to develop HR strategies and processes based on existing company goals.
Execute people initiatives to optimize HR services to facilitate the organization’s ability to meet company objectives, goals, and vision.
Prepare and present updates on initiatives and/or reports on progress to executive and senior leadership as requested.
Maintain and enhance the HR processes and programs to efficiently deliver high quality services.
Oversee HR managers to enhance policies, processes, and programs to align with company goals.
Review and analyze metrics, business trends, and industry knowledge to inform the planning and delivery of people strategies and solutions that align to business objectives.
Monitor people data and trends to identify opportunities to better align practice with strategy.
Consult with other senior leadership on implementation of programs and initiatives, including employee engagement, total rewards, performance management, diversity and inclusion, workplace flexibility, and company initiatives.
Identify, communicate, and mitigate risks with adoption of various change initiatives.
Maintain working relationship with managers to build HR brand and internal presence.
People Management
Maintain a physically and psychologically safe work environment.
Hire, manage, develop, and train team members as needed.
Coach HR managers on optimizing staff talent and productivity to meet business objectives.
Provide reinforcing and redirecting feedback to employees.
Cultivate opportunities for professional growth of team members.
Communicate clear priorities, expectations, and resources for development.
Provide direction and leadership for all activities of the HR team.
People Operations
Prepare and deliver communication regarding HR services, annual tasks, and policies.
Support change initiatives through communication tools and consultation with leadership.
Improve operations and processes to deliver exceptional service to internal customers.
Ensure programs comply with internal and external regulations and meet stakeholder needs.
Track and manage budgets associated with HR in line with department goals and systems.
Assess and improve compensation, benefits, and leave of absence programs and offerings.
Analyze and act on metrics to identify changes and programs to augment the employee experience.
Develop, recommend, and implement internal policies and procedures.
Collaborate with general counsel to prepare and maintain handbook policies and internal procedures.
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This incumbent directly supervises HR Managers and provides indirect oversight to HR team.
This position will report to the VP People.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related discipline required.
A minimum of 7-10 years of human resources experience required.
Expertise in total rewards, analytics, and compliance highly preferred.
A minimum of 5-7 years of previous management experience preferred.
HR certification at a senior level preferred (SHRM-SCP or SPHR).
Physical Demands
Position requires the ability to sit for up to approximately two hours at a time and retrieve information and documents from department staff within and outside the office area.
May be required to occasionally lift items weighing up to 25 pounds.
Work Environment
The primary work environment for this position is within an office setting. There are no adverse conditions associated with this position.
