About The Position
We are looking for an experienced North American/Canadian Payroll Lead who wants to make this Company’s Payroll the best in class. This position will oversee and supervise the US and Canada payroll, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations. You will also act as a key operational and transactional payroll lead and back end strategist who is the interface between HR/Line Managers/Finance and Employees in the countries for which you are responsible. Understanding how the back end works and ability to reconfigure is key.

A successful candidate will take full ownership of the payroll function. You will have a passion for thoroughness and accuracy and knowing you are making an impact on employee’s lives. This person will be able to roll up their sleeves and manage the day-to-day processes but will also have the experience and interest to impact the decisions the company makes regarding our payroll provider, configurations, processes, and ways of working.
A successful candidate will have experience with various payroll providers and has a high learning agility. We currently use Ceridian Dayforce but are open to someone who has shown the ability to learn new systems or has gone through an integration or payroll change. In addition, we are looking for someone who knows both US and Canadian payroll or has experience learning a new country.
You'll want to be comfortable running multiple complex payroll runs throughout the month for both CA and US, as well as hourly and salaried employees, and have an understanding of payroll tax and working with state agencies. Besides our weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly payroll runs, you'll be responsible for 401k Management, Yearly Compliance, and Audits. Data integrity, detail-oriented, and project management are key to this role.
