We are looking for an experienced and motivated Research Assistant to support our Food Scientist and Head of R&D in all aspects of research, innovation, and commercialization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct experiments to develop and refine plant-based meat products.
- Analyze data and present findings to inform product development.
- Assist in conducting sensory evaluations.
- Support the commercialization of new products by executing pilot scale trials and transferring processes from pilot to full manufacturing scale.
- Work closely with the quality team to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to food production and workplace safety.
- Travel up to 40% of the time to support company initiatives and manage relationships with suppliers, partners, and customers
Qualifications:
- B.S., M.S. in Food Science, Food Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a similar role, ideally within the alternative meat or food industry.
- Experience with commercialization processes and a strong understanding of production processes and flow.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in a startup environment is a plus.
- Experience with sensory science is also a plus.
- Willingness to travel up to 40% of the time to support company initiatives.
