The Foodservice Business Development Co-op will assist development of sales opportunities and drive sales growth within the food service channel. The candidate will work with the Foodservice Business Development Manager in engaging Foodservice Operators, Manufacturers, Blenders, and Co-packers to identify and tap opportunities for penetration. The ideal candidate will collaborate with Ingredion Sales, Marketing Culinology and Innovation teams to execute innovation and product strategies activated by compelling guest preferred Culinology concepts to drive growth.
Core Responsibilities:
Conduct research to identify pockets of growth and collaborate with key functions to develop an informed and compelling value proposition to drive channel penetration and growth
Conduct research, mapping, and sizing of un-met/under-served opportunities in Foodservice to drive business development
Conduct research to identify target Manufacturers, Blenders, and Co-mans for specific target applications/categories to meet the finished product needs of target/specific Foodservice Operators
Research and conduct capability mapping, and develop profiles of target Manufacturers, Co-mans, and Blenders to facilitate business development
Assist Foodservice Business Development Manager in preparing and executing sales pitches, Foodservice shows/events, and conferences
Identify and develop profiles for targeted customer contacts to facilitate lead generation and opportunity development
Conduct research and follow-ups to support lead generation and management, and administer leads in SFDC
Assist Ingredion Foodservice partners in executing food service strategy and plans
Support the development of Sales and Marketing content and materials to facilitate engagement with Customers and Ingredion’s Commercial Teams
Gather Operator / Customer needs, define requirements, and support solution development and product supply options to sustainably meet Operator needs, taping existing and new Foodservice Manufacturers, Co-mans, and Blenders
Support the development of Ingredion’s regional and global food service strategy to drive aggressive market penetration and expansion, and activation of the Ingredion brand

Qualified candidates will have:
Working towards a Bachelor’s or Graduate degree, ideally in Food Science, Business (especially Hospitality Business Management), and or Culinary Arts
Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) during Summer 2023 and part-time (15-20 hours/week) during Fall 2023
Experience working in or serving Restaurant Foodservice, preferably QSRs and Fast Casual
Professional experience and or academic training in Sales, Marketing, and or Business Development experience is a plus
Deep and extensive expertise in Market research and analysis, insights development, and market sizing
Strong passion for customers and entrepreneurial mindset
